Molequin is a relative newcomer to watch straps versus the more well-known strap companies, having started in the last decade, but don’t let that dissuade you from taking a closer look. The company offers a variety of materials (suede and nubuck to saffiano and alligator) and colors, including two-tone for some colors, as well as made-to-order pieces. And with quick-release spring bars, you can swap them as quickly as you like.
The customer service is exceptional, and with the quality products at a reasonable price, these have become my go-to straps on a number of different pieces. The only knock I have is that I would have expected some combinations (colors and whether available as two-tone or not) to be offered without needing to be customized.
However, if you need need to make minimal customization, you can select Molequin’s made-to-order option. The good news is that while some companies wind up doubling the cost of the strap to even start customization, Molequin in comparison adds only an additional €25 premium beyond the standard price, with a quick turnaround time of 10-15 working days. If you are looking for extensive customization, note that Molequin does not offer the breadth of options that other high-customization companies do, such as stitching types, alternative color for waxed edges, and so forth. Molequin does, however, offer eight different varieties of leather across six different colors, with more limited options of ecru and tone on tone (which is all that I need) stitching. The custom straps are are available in virtually any lug width, standard buckle increments of 2mm, and come in the the most common strap lengths.
Lastly, aside from straps, Molequin offers additional products, such as watch cases (premium, oval and their UltraSlim), spring bar tools, and card holders.
Prices range from €99 to €225 prior to customization. For full details check out Molequin Fine Straps
