The Mido Ocean Star line of watches uses a custom tool to remove the crystal first when servicing the watch. The metal tool would pair with one of the included metal inserts in order to remove the crystal.
In addition, there was an order form for the watchmaker to order the correct crystal and tension ring, with or without luminous material, in a number of different colors/finishes.
